Lisa Patton is a bestselling novelist and speaker from Memphis, Tennessee, now based in Nashville. Before turning fully to fiction, she worked in theater, radio, television, and the music business, including a decade alongside Michael McDonald. Her novels include Whistlin’ Dixie in a Nor’easter, Yankee Doodle Dixie, Southern as a Second Language, Rush, and Kissing the Sky. A University of Alabama graduate, Patton brings a strong Southern voice, humor, and music-world perspective to her work, especially in Kissing the Sky, which draws on the culture and sound of the late 1960s.
